Microsoft Certified Solution Providers (MCSPs) are independent companies that provide IT services and IT products based on Microsoft technologies to corporate, government and small business customers. MCSP membership is 26,000 strong worldwide and is considered one of the most important resources for enabling Microsoft solutions. MCSPs are provided with product licenses for internal and marketing use, extensive technical training and support, access to pre-release product strategy and program codes, sales and marketing resources, direct communications with Microsoft staff, and joint marketing opportunities. The MCSP Program is designed to increase members' technical competency and business proficiency.

All MCSPs have a minimum of (2) two Microsoft Certified Professionals on staff with proven expertise in developing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft-based solutions. New for MCSP 2000 is the integration of the Designed for BackOffice and Certified for Windows product qualification to augment one of the two certified professionals mentioned above as a requirement.
